ABC icon’s record home sale
The Greenwich apartment that belonged to the legendary ABC journalist the late Caroline Jones has just sold for a unit block record, of more than $1.325m, prior to its scheduled auction this weekend. Caroline, who presented Four Corners in the 1970s, The Search For Meaning on Radio National and Australian Story from 1996, lived in the compact two-bedroom apartment for 45 years until her death last year, aged 84. Friend and real estate agent Bernardette Hayes, of Stone Real Estate, said the pioneering journalist was much loved in the Greenwich Point Marina complex and was very generous. It is believed she bequeathed money from the sale of the apartment to charities and causes that were important to her.
